For Extraordinary Prints: Effect Pigments from EMD Performance Materials

It's all about materials and technology
Attractive and product-related packaging design makes a product more appealing and emphasizes its functionality. For this reason, the designer should make use of the production coordinator's experience in materials and technology even during the development phase of styling with effect pigments. The properties of the material to be printed, the print color, the print technology and the pigment need to be taken into account to ensure that the result matches up to the design required. It is also essential that all partners have a high level of technical understanding in the later implementation phases, in order that the planned design is implemented accurately and additional effort avoided.

The right pigment for every printing process
EMD Performance Materials' effect pigments can be used in gravure , flexo , screen  and offset printing and in offset coating . The thicker the layer of ink, the more intense the effect. In screen printing, for example, up to ten times more ink can be transferred to a surface than in offset printing. The various product families are recommended for different printing processes, depending on their various particle sizes and physical properties. The table below gives an overview of the effect types and their characteristic properties
