Protective packaging for sensitive components
Package printing that continuously dissipates electricity – the products of the Iriotec® 7100 series by EMD Performance Materials make this possible. They prevent voltage build-up on the package and electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to the contents. The functional particles are incorporated directly into the package printing ink; they offer effective ESD protection in appealing embellishments to sensitive electronic components.
Conductive primers, antistatic floors and translucent, dissipative applications
Light-colored conductive primers prepare plastic components for electrostatic applications (ESTA). Especially in the automotive sector, the amount of plastic parts has increased significantly. Pigments from the Iriotec® 7300 series in the primer allow electrostatic application of plastics with light colored varnishes – in the same color as adjacent automotive elements made of metal.
Antistatic flooring is used, for example, in the production of electronic components that must be protected against uncontrolled electrostatic discharge. However, they are additionally found in factories, warehouses, clean rooms, hospitals or explosion-protected production areas and laboratories where they also safeguard persons against electrostatic discharge. Their light-colored or translucent body color makes pigments of the Iriotec® 7300 series an attractive alternative to carbon black which is usually used for dissipative flooring but causes a dark or black appearance. Iriotec® allows both: light and friendly colors plus protection against electrostatic charging and discharging.
Translucent and dissipative applications
Dissipative coatings safeguard goods and surfaces against electrostatic discharge. Pigment of the Iriotec® 7300 series in transparent antistatic formulations do not affect the appearance of the underlying décor, and even light design details and color nuances remain unchanged. Iriotec® 7300 is the benchmark in the protection of decorative surfaces against electrostatic charge build-up, like in translucent and antistatic coatings for laminates.
