Successful cooperation results in association: Peer+ is now a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany
A most fruitful partnership led to association: Peer+ is now called Merck Window Technologies B.V. – for their shared journey to take switchable windows with LCW materials to market introduction.
Founded in 2008 with the idea to develop intelligent glass, Peer+ soon attained a partner with extensive knowledge: Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, a global leader for innovative and top-quality high-tech products in Pharma, Chemistry and Life Science. Especially our expertise in liquid crystals was valuable for Peer+. Their shared goal: the development of Liquid Crystal Windows (LCW)
Intelligent windows enable an integrated sun protection without additional shading systems. Windows with LCW materials can be dimmed smoothly and appropriately change their transparency for visible light and solar heat without blocking the view outside. Additionally the use of different colors can provide attractive optical effects. Solar heat protection is not the only benefit these windows offer – the interplay of many LCW windows can turn entire glass façades into gigantic displays .
